More on canvassing...

I had to get off the computer really quickly while writing my last blog...so here goes again!

There's two experiences that I want to share.

In the first one, I was doing this big hardware type store. I did the manager first. He wasn't interested but told me I could do any of the other employees. PT!! I proceeded to go around the store and sold a couple of HDs. Finally I came to another part of the store where this man was working. I canvassed him on the cookbook and Peace and he was interested. He said he liked to read so I pulled out a GC. He got really exited and said he wanted the book and would definately read it! (Every canvassers dream)! In my exitement, I forgot to show him more books. He left to get change for a $100 bill. While he was gone I thought "Oh no, I should have showed him HTL too." I began to pray that he would come back with a $20 so I could give him the HTL. When he came around the corner he was holding out a $20!! I was so happy! We had a really nice spiritual converstation and ended with prayer right there in the middle of the store!

Another neat experience was when I was doing some offices. I canvassed a lady who bought a cookbook and kids book. I went into another room and canvassed a man who was not interested. In order to get to the outside door, I had to pass the lady I'd already sold to. As I passed her she called for me to come over. Then she told me that just that week she had been praying that she'd be able to find a cookbook so she could cook healthfully for her family. She felt like my coming with the "More Choices" cookbook was an answer to her prayer! I was very exited and prayed with her before leaving!

Canvassing is one of the most exiting ways to wittness and I'm so glad God gave me that opportunity to work for Him last week!

My Spring break!

Greetings to all my wonderful friends in the world of Xanga!

This update has been long in coming...I know!

I'm living with my grandparents now and will soon be starting a correspondace course with OHC. My spring break consisted of going canvassing with an awesome group of mostly SAU college students. Some of you may know some of them so I'll list the first names (and last names if I know them) for you. They were Andrew Rachalle (leader), Meschil Lafuenta (leader), Suranny, Anca, Diana I., Andry, Luamy, Louis, Chris, Seth, Jordan Small, and Mrianela Osorio. God really blessed and our group sold about 950 for the whole week!

Oh...I have to go. More later!

Still here...

Well, I know it's been a terribly long time since I've updated. After having a look at the "footprints" that have crossed my Xanga page, I decided I need to write something here!

As of right now, I plan on living with my grandparents for the rest of the semester (they live about an hour from SAU). Hopefully all of you awesome peeps down at southern will see my face from time to time!

I guess that's why I haven't updated-nothing exiting is happening in my life right now.

I'll be canvassing in a couple of programs in March and may get to be a "real" leader in one of them! Yikes!! I can't see myself driving a van around with exited canvassers and answering calls for "management assistance," but "I can do all things through Christ" so I'm sure it will (if it happens) be a good experience for me!

See ya'll later!

Helloooo everybody!! It's time for a real update!!

I had a WONDERFUL Christmas-several Christmases actually! My mom got me a beautiful Hope Chest for Christmas! It's very well-made...cedar and it smells sooo good.

Christmas day I went to Stephen Leach's parents house and stayed there and then rode up with my sister, Stephen, Nathan Bearce, and Jonathon Reynolds to GYC. (We had to go a day early to help get ready for registration, ect...). The next day was busy and a lot of fun. Registration lasted over nine hours, but thankfully we got breaks during that time!

The whole GYC experience was unforgettable! I thoroughly enjoyed the seminars, the plenary sessions, the early morning meetings (at least the ones I went to!), and the evening meetings. And nothing could beat C.D. Brook's dedication service! God definately spoke to my heart that whole weekend!

The trip back was fun as well! Same people except that Jonathon went back up with his family and Chris Anderson rode with us instead. He's a missionary at Riverside Farm in Africa. (Some of you probably remember him working construction at OHA in '05 I believe).

Since GYC I've been praying and talking to trusted adults, trying to figure out what to do next semester. It seems that it will not work out for me to go to Mission College, but there are other options and I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be. Please pray for me because I need to decide right away.

Hope you enjoyed reading! Leave comments

Always,

Leila
